Pregnancy

  • Any vaginal bleeding more than just with wiping

  • Severe abdominal cramping

  • Severe headaches not relieved by acetaminophen, hydration, or rest

  • Severe chest pain

  • Illness with vomiting, fever and/or diarrhea

  • Severe persistent itching all over

  • Appearance of any lesions or sores in the genital area

  • Gush or leaking fluid from the vagina

  • Feelings of severe depression/anxiety causing harm to yourself/others

  • After 26 weeks: Less than 6 fetal movements in 2 hours, or worried about baby’s movements

  • Car accident or other traumatic event

Postpartum/After Baby

  • Bleeding that fills a pad in under an hour

  • Fever over 38C

  • Severe headaches not relieved by acetaminophen (tylenol)

  • Foul odor from your vagina

  • Hard, red, painful areas on your breasts

  • A hard, red area or pain on the backs of your legs

  • Abdominal pain

Baby

  •  Blue skin tone on the face and trunk, baby not breathing – CALL 911

  • Nasal flaring, grunting or sinking in of the chest with breathing

  • Temperature below 36.5C or above 37.5C

  • Yellow tone to skin within first 24 hours of life 

  • No urine or bowel movement during the first 36 hours of life

  • Too sleepy to feed
